The Directors and Advisory Board and Staff of HEA would like to thank our funders, sponsors and partners. Because of their generous support we are able to deliver our services to residents of the Tampa Bay.

James (Jim) Parker-Board Chair

A 25 year veteran of the mortgage industry with 18 years in Leadership Positions. Jim recently joined Union Home Mortgage Corporation as their SW Florida Area Sales Manager.

Jim is certified as a trainer’s trainer of NLP in Effective Communication, Mental and Emotional Release techniques and he is also certified in the Hawaiian Spirituality of Huna. The tools he’s mastered have helped him coach and mentor Top Producers to focus their energy on creating extraordinary results in their business both personally and professionally.

Jim is actively involved in giving his time, contributions and experience to educate the community on sustainable homeownership. He is an active member of NAHREP and a Past President in 2012, serving the Hispanic Real Estate Community. He currently sits on the Board of Housing and Education Alliance, a Nonprofit Organization serving the Housing Community.

Jim has a passion for creating synergy in all areas of his life with a goal to create a positive balance of mind, body and spirit. He believes when your passion aligns with your purpose life is more fun to live and we attract the success we create in life.

Patty Campbell – Secretary/Treasurer

Patty Campbell is a native of Cleveland, Ohio and has lived in Florida since 1975. In March 2015, Patty joined BankUnited to facilitate lending and community development in West and Central Florida. Most recently Patty joined USAmeriBank as Community Mortgage Loan Originator.  Patty concentrates on CRA, community service, community partnerships, relationship development and lending. Patty is a proud graduate of the University of South Florida (Go Bulls) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work.

Mark Broderick-Director

Mark is an attorney presently working for the Grant Street Group.. He has practiced real estate law, volunteers his time helping non-profits providing advice and guidance. He enjoys spending time with this family. He is married and a father to two beautiful children.

Patrick J. Halpin-Director

Patrick is a practicing real estate attorney specializing in foreclosure defense and bankruptcy law. He is a member of the Florida Bar Association and the National Bar Association. He is an active member of his church and volunteers one day a week at Gulf Coast Legal Services providing legal advice to those who could not otherwise afford to seek counsel.

Marlene Forde-Director

Marlene Forde is a Senior Lending Manager covering the Florida West Market for Chase Bank.  She manages a team of 45 sales professionals who provide home financing to buyers throughout the Florida West Market.

Marlene has been with Chase for 22+ years all of which were in the mortgage division.   Marlene is actively involved in the community, volunteering her time to a variety of non-profit groups and most recently, was excited to join the board of the Housing and Education Alliance.

Marlene loves to spend her spare time traveling and is an avid reader. She lives in the Tampa Bay area with her husband and youngest son.

Jason Busto – Advisory Board

Jason Busto is a fifth-generation Tampeño, a London School of Economics-trained trilingual world traveler and COO of his family-owned plumbing business.

They don’t call him the “unofficial mayor of West Tampa” for nothing. He’s been a passionate advocate for aggressive redevelopment of Tampa’s urban core in a style that would be closer to the great cities of Europe. He envisions 2- to 3-story residential buildings lining major roadways from downtown to Westshore. He’s also a historic preservationist, fighting to keep former cigar factories from demolition.

Nikki Alvarez-Sowles – Advisory Board

Nikki is a graduate of USF and Thomas Cooley Law School and is currently employed by the Clerk of Circuit Court in Pasco County as the Chief Operating Officer. Nikki oversees the Criminal and Civil Courts Division, Information Technology Division and the Records Division. She is President of the West Pasco Bar Association. Nikki lives in Land O Lakes, Florida, is married with 2 beautiful children.

Anna Ramos – Advisory Board

Anna a native of Tampa worked at the Centro Asturiano Hospital for 30 years as Head of Accounts Payable and Payroll and also as the Administrator’s Assistant

Ms. Ramos currently holds a position on the advisory board and was also appointed by former Mayor Pam Iorio to the City of Tampa “Human Rights” board. She is currently employed by the Ybor City Chamber of Commerce as their Events Coordinator. Throughout the years Anna has received many awards and has been recognized by different organizations for her commitment to Tampa and Ybor City and continues to promote the cultural preservation and revitalization of the community.

Kelly Kirschner – Advisory Board

Kelly Kirschner is the Dean of Executive and Continuing Education at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. Raised in Sarasota, Kirschner is a graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, receiving his BS in Environmental Issues in International Politics and MA in Latin American Studies. At Georgetown, Kirschner worked as the Head Manager for the men’s basketball team and interned three years in the West Wing of the Clinton White House.
Kirschner was a US Peace Corps volunteer in rural Guatemala and later led a USAID Mayan-community conservation project in the same region of Guatemala. He is fluent in Spanish and speaks some Mayan Q’eqchi.
Kirschner recently completed four years as the youngest City Commissioner ever elected in Sarasota, including serving two years as Vice-Mayor and one as Mayor.
Prior to joining Eckerd, Kirschner was the director of the SW Florida non-profit, UnidosNow.org. He currently is Board Chairman with UnidosNow.

Aileen Rodriguez-Advisory Board

Aileen Rodriguez is a public affairs professional with more than 16 years of experience leading communications and public relations efforts for organizations in non-profit, government and the private sector. Ms. Rodriguez currently serves as the Chief of Staff the Executive Offices of Tampa International Airport.

Prior to joining the Tampa International Airport, she was principal of her own consulting firm specializing in public affairs, public relations and outreach.  Previous roles include serving as Communications Director for the Tampa Bay Host Committee for the Republican National Convention, Gulfcoast Regional Director to United States Senator Mel Martinez and Community Liaison for the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute.

Ms. Rodriguez is a graduate of the University of South and serves on several prestigious Tampa Bay boards. Ms. Rodriguez was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and is fluent in Spanish.  She lives in the Tampa Bay area with her husband and two children.

Arnie Diaz-Advisory Board

Arnaldo R. “Arnie” Diaz is a life-long Tampa Bay area resident. A graduate of Tulane University, he played football and was Senior Team Captain while he received his Economics degree. An alumnus of the NFL, he played for the Baltimore Colts. He began his career as a mortgage broker in the early eighties and quickly advanced to management. Since 1989 Arnie worked for Wells Fargo in several capacities. For twelve year’s Arnie served as Florida Regional Manager with Wells Fargo.   In 2013 Arnie joined Waterstone Mortgage and holds the position of Regional Manager.    In 2016 Arnie joined the Excel Mortgage Team. Mr. Diaz is a licensed Foster Parent, and a volunteer and member of his church.
